Sundays spent in the kitchen has become something I look forward to, I never liked to cook but it's been a creative outlet for me lately. Black forest cake reminds me of home. Without fail, my mum would always buy one for special occasions. This is my first attempt, using this recipe. I wanted to make it my own though and so decided it to serve it in bite size portions.
It was a pretty simple recipe, which would have been better with real cherries. Still, these morello cherries add a nice touch of colour to the plate.
If you want to make it authentic, you can make the chocolate cake from scratch, but to save time, I used a cake mix.
Whipping up some thickened cream.
