Sundae Sessions: Ice cream bar with test tubes
We used these test tubes as vases for an event last year. It made such a conversation starter as a centrepiece, I thought it'd be great to hold ice cream toppings in them.
Instead of going to the grocery store to find my toppings, I decided to pay a visit to a little candy shop I pass by everyday on my way home from work. This lady sells small bags of candy from every country, for $1.50 each, so it's easy for you to sample a few of them. I went home with some old favourites (M&M minis, pastel marsh mellows) and a few to try for the first time (white freckles, milk jugs).
From left to right: White milk jugs, cherries, unknown but they are the type you string into necklaces, chopped peanut clusters, white milk jugs, M&M minis, cherries, chopped peanut clusters, white freckles, white milk jugs)
This is so simple to do. The test tubes were ordered straight from a lab. Depending on the toppings you get, there's little to no prep time need. This would be great for a Mad Scientist themed type of party.
I was thrilled to find a lactose free ice cream!
